Your roots are stronger than that of a mahogany - R****e

For me, my favourite genre of music is not just about the beats and tempo or the dance moves it can evoke. Its way deeper than that, just thinking about my fav genre of music right now is making me all emotional. It brings an inner peace to me in ways that I can’t explain.
When am going through an emotional phase, my kind of music and the act in particular even make me more emotional and cry just listening to it play on my headset only to make me feel better than ever afterwards, lol. Crazy right?.

The genre of music I LOVE most is REGGAE. Surprised? Don’t be please. So many people look at me kind of suspiciously when they ask me my fav genre of music and I tell them Raggae. For someone meeting me for the first time, I guess he may quickly tag me razz though sometimes never voicing it out. I blame them not though for with the rascality sometimes associated with reggae music and musicians themselves is not palatable in the eyes of the society. But am far from razz quote me wrong though lol, and for me, reggae as a music is more than that.

I love the late Lucky Dube of blessed memory style of singing reggae, he makes every lyric come alive and so soulful. While I was still a little girl, will immediately buy any of his album I see in the record stores with the few naira I could save from ‘biscuit money’.  If you want to know how much I can influence you into liking reggae even if you never liked it, live with me in the same room for about a month especially when I take the reggae tablet and I bet you, you will turn a Lucky Dube’s song addict, lol.

Unconsciously, I have woven nearly all my sisters and a few friends into liking it one way or the other. I really do love his songs and at a time it was becoming alarming even to me, I could be having a little challenge and instead of talking to a friend about it I would put on my headset to the loudest and cry my pains out as his music played only for me to feel better afterwards.
I recently deleted the tracks I love most from my phone's playlist though before it turns something else for me, lol. Am not scared, just trying to be careful about what I do so I wouldn’t depend on it too much and then find myself in a situation where I have no access to his songs, and I listen to it less these days but will indulge myself with a little of his tracks tonight *tongue out*.
Well I also like some Bob Marley’s tracks and some rap acts like Drake and sha some Nigerian acts (just added this so it wont look like I left out my country, lol). Listening to reggae does inspire me in so many ways and it preaches peace, unity and love amongst individuals and nations.

So your turn now tell me your favourite genre of music and give me reasons why it is your fav or you could just tell me your favourite musical act be it Terry G, Tonto Dikeh, Timaya, John Legend( oh I love this man too), or maybe Don Jazzy…..

How are you all doing? I made changes to the site themes hope y’ all like it, If not let me know please. Thanks for always keeping a date with me here my dear readers. I appreciate!
